First Reading Assignment

It was fascinating to read about the "Process of Sight" article and the manner in which Cezannen intended the viewers to see his paintings. His philosophy about art  is  different w compared to other artists such as Monte and Renoir as they portrayed an image that does not require the viewer to think about the picture. Such paintings do not urge a person to think about what the final image should look like as apposed to Cezannen who's paintings were a mysterious reality. I assume they were more of illusions or unfinished work which forced the eye and the brain to harder attempt to understand. Cezannen used less defined strokes, more intense colors and random objects such as skulls in his paintings. Relating this to the first two chapters in the "Visual Story", I guess all painters mentioned above used the same elemetns to compose a visual image: space, line, shape, tone, color, movement and rhythm, however they used them differently. The painters also played the contrast and affinity differently.
